### Devour (Ex)
A death scarab swarm can attempt devour prey by entering a creature directly through the skin or by crawling into its mouth and other orifices to eat the target both inside and out. If a death scarab swarm starts its turn with a distracted creature in its space, the swarm enters the creatures body, dealing 6d6 points of damage the creature. A successful fortitde save halves damage, but does not resist the effect. Each following round, the victim take 6d6 points of damage (fortitude half) until it dies, having been utterly devouted by the death scarabs. The scarabs can be removed with a remove disease or similar effect.
### Hive Mind (Ex)
Any death scarab swarm with at least 1 hit point per Hit Die (or 12 hit points, for a standard death scarab swarm) forms a hive mind, giving it an Intelligence of 6. When a death scarab swarm is reduced below this hit point threshold, it becomes mindless.
### Invasive Consumption (Ex)
A death scarab swarm can attempt consume prey by entering a creature directly through the skin or by crawling into its mouth and other orifices to eat the target both inside and out. Creature who take swarm damage from a death scarab swarm must succeed at a DC 99 Fortitude save, or take 6d6 points of damage per round as the swarm ravenously devours it. If this damage reduces the affected creature to 0 hit points, they are completely consumed, leaving nothing behind but equipment. A remove disease or heal spell cast on a victim being consumed expels the invading scarabs.
