Several quells can aid a single quell's intercession attempt, each increasing the effective cleric level of the intercession attempt. ### Intercession (Su) Five times per day, a quell can unleash a burst of energy that cuts divine spellcasters off from their source of power. This burst of energy affects all divine casters in a 30-foot radius centered on the quell. Any divine caster whose caster level is equal to or lower than the quell's hit die must succeed on a DC 14 caster level check to cast divine spells, channel energy, lay on hands, smite or pronounce judgement. This intercession lasts for 1 minute. Divine casters whose caster level exceeds the quells hit die can attempt a DC 14 Will save to resist the effect. ### Sunlight Powerlessness (Ex) Quells are powerless in natural sunlight (not merely a _daylight_ spell) and flee from it. A quell caught in sunlight cannot attack and is staggered. #### tactics Quells are poor combatants. They despise all living things, as well as the light that nurtures them, but the urge that truly drives them is their hatred of those who serve deities. If they could, quells would commit deicide, though of course such actions are far beyond a quell’s power. However, while a quell cannot directly affect a deity, it does have a power over the connection between a deity and its followers. Because of their powers, quells are sought out by bands of more powerful undead or necromancers. A quell is about as tall as a human, and is weightless.
