### Dislodging Quills (Ex)
Any creature that takes piercing damage from a porcupines quills or tail attack has 1d6 quills that automatically break off and lodge in their flesh. Creatures with at least one lodged quill take a -1 penalty to attacks, saves, and checks. Creatures immune to pain do not take this penalty. A quill can be removed with a DC 15 Heal check, or by taking a move action. Removing a quill without a heal check results in 1d3 points of damage per quill.
### Quills (Ex)
Any creature attacking a dire porcupine with light or one-handed melee weapons, natural weapons, or an unarmed strike takes 1d3 points of piercing damage. A creature that grapples a giant porcupine takes 2d4 points of piercing damage each round it does so.
