Constitution drained from a creature engulfed in voidfire bolsters the wight that ignited it. Creatures brought to 0 or fewer hit points (or a 0 Constitution) by voidfire are reduced to a pile of fine white dust. Constitution drain from voidfire cannot be restored magically unless the casting is done on hallowed ground and the caster succeeds on a DC 40 caster level check. ### Voidflame Aura (Su) Voidwights emit a 10-foot aura of voidfire. Undead in the area gain channel resistance +6, while creatures in the area (including undead) take 4d6 cold damage. #### ecology **Organization** Solitary or Pair **Treasure** Standard **Advancement** 22–42 HD (Medium); 43–55 HD (Large) Voidwights (sometimes referred to as epic winterwights) are horrors of death wrapped in ice. Voidwight appear as humanoid skeletons sheathed in a thick skin of ice. The ice serves a voidwight as frigid “flesh” and does not hamper its movement in any way. Huge shards of jagged ice depend from each finger, serving as claws. Only the skull of a voidwight is free of ice; a corona of ebony flame burns there like a crown. Voidwights are spawned from shadows of the void, though some have been created artifically by a legendary demilich who sought the limits of necromantic power. Luckily, Voidwight are few, and generally trapped in forgotten citadels decaying on the Astral Plane or the Negative Energy Plane. Extremely powerful liches, vampires, and demiliches sometimes gain winterwights as temporary allies. ### Combat Voidwights like to use their claws and skull slam on foes, attempting to engulf them in voidfire, using their spell-like abilities or blinding speed and rapid blitz to corral those that attempt to retreat or keep their distance. ## Voidfire A voidwight generates a tenacious form of cold damage called voidfire. This blue-white energy looks similar to fire, but only affects living flesh, and deals cold damage. Cold resistance and immunity do not apply to this damage unless it is supplemented with resistance or immunity to negative energy, such as that provided by _death ward_. Creatures immune to one form of energy and resistant to another (such as an undead creature with cold resistance) gains the lesser of the two protections against voidfire.
