If a spell or spell-like ability cast at a laraken fails to overcome the its spell resistance, the laraken absorbs the spell and has the ability to cast that spell on its next turn as a spell-like ability. When a laraken is struck by a magic weapon, the items must succeed at a DC 22 Fortitude save or have its power drained for 1d4 minutes. The larakins gains 1 temporary hit point per effective enhacement bonus of the absorbed weapon. The save DCs are Constitution-based. ### Dimension Door (Sp) As a standard action, a laraken can use dimension door as an 8th-level caster. ### Drain Magic (Su) A laraken drains magic in the form magic items it contacts, or the spells of spellcasters the creature strikes. Spellcasters struck by a laraken must succeed at a DC 22 Fortitude save or lose their highest-level spell slot or prepared spell. If the victim possesses two or more spells of the same level, the drained spell is randomly chosen. The laraken can then use that spell on its next turn as a spell-like ability. A laraken can stike out at magic items using the sunder combat maneuver. Any weapon sundered by a laraken loses 1d8 charges or uses per day. Items that do not use charges are drained of their magic for 1d4 rounds. Affected objects can make a DC 22 Fortitude save to reist the effect. Larakins gain temporary hit points equal to the number of charges drained, or 8 if it drains an item that does not use charges. The save DCs are Constitution-based. ### Sense Magic (Su) A laraken can discern magical auras and their strengths, as well as remaining spell slots within a spellcaster, choosing its targets based on this perception. Even without the aid of sight, the creature can sense a spellcaster with remaining spell slots, a functioning spell, or magic item within 60 feet. This ability functions automatically and is always active.
