#### special abilities
### Budding (Ex)
A greater feyr can split off some of its life force to create one or more feyrs under the parent's control. Usually these offspring are used for specific, short-term missions such as reconnaissance or to decoy pursuers. The greater feyr gains 1 negative level for each hit die of its offspring. The negative levels cannot be removed magically, but dispate at the rate of one per month if its offspring still live, or immediately upon the offspring's death.
### Emotion (Sp)
Five times per day, greater feyrs have the innate ability to manipulate creatures' emotions as the arcane spell emotion, although they can exercise only the despair, fear, hate, or rage options. The ability has a range of 150 feet and affects all creatures in a 15-foot radius. Victims must make a Will save (DC 20) to resist the effects.
### Fear (Sp)
Any creature attacked by a greater feyr, or witnessing a greater feyr attack, must make a Will save (DC 20) or be subject to the effects of a fear spell as though cast by a 14th-level sorcerer.
### Healed by Fear (Su)
Greater feyrs are immune to emotion effects. Additionally, spells that cause fear act as cure spells spells of the equivalent level.
### Smother (Ex)
Creatures pinned by a greater feyr cannot breathe. Any sentient creature who begins to suffocate while being smothered grants the greater feyr temporary hit points equal to 4 × the victims HD. Temporary hit points last 24 hours.
### Subjegate (Su)
A greater feyr can brainwash a creature, placing it under the greater feyr's thrall. This is a process of emotional and psyical torture that requires the greater feyr to spend 24 hours over three days with a helpless victim. The victim must succeed at a DC 20 Will save or be affected as by dominate monster, except that the greater feyr can fully share senses with his thrall as a standard action, and the greater feyr must remain within 4 miles of his thrall, or the subjegation ends.
