# Dustwight >[!rimg]+ > ![[Placeholder2.png]] *This haggard humanoid creature stands in a small cloud of dust. Its stonelike features seem eroded and crumbling, like an ancient statue battered by the elements.* <div class="grid-container"><div class="MON">Dustwight</div> <div class="CR">CR 7 (3,200 XP)</div> <div class="SOU">Monster Manual 3</div> <div class="SYS">Dungeons & Dragons 3.5</div></div> CE Medium Undead (earth) **Init** -1 **Senses** darkvision 60 ft.; **Perception** +14 **Aura** petrifying cloud (5 ft., DC 18 ) #### defense **AC** 20, 9 touch, 21 flat-footed (-1 Dex, +11 natural) **hp** 58 (11d8+8) **Fort** +5, **Refl** +2, **Will** +7 **Feint** 18, **Demoralize** 21 **DR** 5/adamantine **Immune** undead traits #### offense **Speed** 20 ft. **Melee** 2 slams +13 (2d6+5/19-20) **Space** 5 ft., **Reach** 5 ft. **Special Attacks** crumbling touch #### statistics **Str** 21, **Dex** 8, **Con** —, **Int** 8, **Wis** 11, **Cha** 11 **BAB** +8, **CMB** +13, **CMD** 22, **TA** +13, **RTA** +7 **Feats** [[Ability Focus]] (petrifying cloud), [[Great Fortitude]], [[Improved Critical]] (slam), [[Improved Sunder]], [[Improved Toughness]], [[Power Attack]] **Skills** Intimidate +14, Perception +14, Stealth +13 **Languages** Terran #### special abilities ### Crumbling Touch (Su) The dustwight's slam attack deals double damage against creatures or objects crafted of metal or stone. Creatures wearing metal or stone armor must succeed at a DC 20 Fortitude save or their armor takes 2d8+10 points of damage. A successful reduces the armor damage by half. If this attack destroys a creatures or armor made of metal or stone, the dustwight gains 5 temporary hit points, which last for a maximum of 1 hour. The save DC is Strength-based. ### Petrifying Cloud (Su) A dustwight is surrounded by a cloud of dust. Any living creature that comes within 5 feet of a dustwight must succeed on a DC 17 Fortitude save or be held in place, unable to move for one round. _Stone shape_ or _move earth_ frees a held creature. If a held creature starts their next turn in the dustwight's petrifying cloud, they must succeed on another DC 17 Fortitude save or be turned to stone (as if by _flesh to stone_). A creature who saves successfully against the petrifying cloud can't be affected again by that dustwight's petrifying cloud for 24 hours. The save DC is Charisma-based. #### tactics A dustwight enters combat with its stonelike fists flying, seeking to affect as many foes as possible with its petrifying cloud. If it petrifies a foe, it turns its attacks on that target, battering the stony victim into rubble. #### ecology **Terrain** Warm deserts **Organization** Solitary or gang (2–5) **Treasure** None **Advancement** 9–12 HD (Medium); 13–18 HD (Large); 19–24 HD (Huge) Dust wights are hateful creatures formed by a conjunction of elemental earth and negative energy. They seek to tear down and destroy all creations of stone and metal, and if they have to kill living creatures to do that, so much the better. A dust wight looks like a gaunt, human-sized earth elemental with forever-crumbling features. Despite its worn appearance, it weighs about 400 pounds.
