#### special abilities
### Blinding Breath (Su)
Instead of a line of divine energy, a radiant dragon can breathe a 80-foot cone of brilliant light. Creatures caught in the area must succeed on a DC 34 Fortitude save or be blinded for 1d6+12 rounds. A successful save means the creature are instead dazzled for the same duration. This light effect function even in area of darkness effects.
### Breath Weapon (Su)
A radiant dragon breaths a line of divine power, similar to the energy produced by a _flame strike_ spell.
### Brilliant Blast (Su)
Any undead or shadow creature damaged by a radiant dragon's breath weapon or blinding breath must succeed on a DC 34 Will save or take 12 points of Charisma damage. Undead brought to 0 Charisma by this effect are destroyed in a nimbus of light.
### Dazzling Light (Su)
A radiant dragon's light is painful to the eyes. Creatures that can see the radiant dragon and are within a its radiance aura take a –2 penalty to attack rolls and perception checks. Creatures who are normally dazzled in bright light instead take a –4 penalty to attack rolls and perception checks. Creatures immune to being dazzled are immune to this effect.
### Dispel Darkness (Su)
The light of a radiant dragon dispels the shadows around it. Any 6th-level or lower darkness effect with the radiant dragon's radiance is automatically dispelled.
### Fell Darkness (Su)
The bite attack or an adult or older radiant dragon deals additional damage equal to its age category to creatures of the shadow subtype, creatures weak to sunlight, and creatures created by shadow magic.
### Lay on Hands (Su)
A radiant dragon can lay on hands in a manner similar to a Paladin. A radiant dragon's effective Paladin level is equal to one-half their hit die. Radiant dragons can use the following mercies, regardless of their effective Paladin level: amputated, blind, deafened, diseased, fatigue, paralyzed, restorative.
### Radiance (Su)
A radiant dragon emanates bright light, as a _daylight_ spell in a 120-foot radius. It can suppress or resume this ability as a free action. This is a 9th-level light effect for purposes of resolving light and darkness effects.
### Repel Darkness (Su)
A radiant dragon can bring into being a mobile, hemispherical energy field that prevents the entrance of undead and creatures of darkness. The effect hedges out undead, creatures of the shadow subtype, and acts as an _antimagic field_ for shadow magic. This otherwise functions as _antilife shell_
Once activated, the barrier remains for 1 minute per age category of the dragon.
### Searing Aura (Su)
The light of a radiant dragon is palpable, and burns all who come too near. Living creatures within 5 feet of a radiant dragon take 1d8 points of damage from the dragon's light. Undead take 2d6, and undead creatures vulnerable to bright light or sun light take 2d8.
### Shield of Light (Su)
The light of a radiant dragon protects it from harm. Radiant dragons gain a deflection bonus to AC equal to its age category.
### Sunlight (Su)
The radiance of a radiant dragon counts as natural sunlight.
#### ecology
**Environment:** Any (Heaven)
**Organization** Solitary (1 dragon, any age), clutch (1d4+1 wyrmlings, very young, young, or juveniles or young adults), family (pair of mature adults and 1d4+1 offspring)
**Treasure** Triple
**Advancement** By age category
Radiant dragons are simultaneously wonderful and terrible, awesome in their righteousness and fearsome in their dedication to destroying evil.
A radiant dragon seems to shine with a heavenly glow, though it can douse this brightness as desired. If you can bear to look upon its grandeur, you can make out that its perfectly shaped scales glisten like molten white gold. Its proud, regal bearing is unmistakable, and its voice rings like heavenly thunder.
Radiant dragons prefer lairs that allow plenty of sunlight, and often place gems and other bright valuables in places where they catch and refract the light, creating marvelous displays of color and radiance. To creatures that display nobility and justice, they are the staunchest of allies, offering succor and healing to any in need. But when faced by those who foster chaos or evil, a radiant dragon becomes a furious whirl of color and light, destroying all who oppose it.
### Combat
A radiant dragon relies on its blinding breath weapon primarily in situations when it wishes to defuse a difficult situation without causing unnecessary injury. Against true enemies it unleashes its force breath and spell-like abilities, showing no mercy to those who do not deserve it.
