An attached cranial encyster is effectively grappling its prey. The cranial encyster looses its Dexterity bonus to AC, but holds on with great tenacity. A cranial encyster has a +12 racial bonus to maintain its grapple on a foe once it is attached. Each round the encyster maintains its grapple, it uses it's death urge ability. An attached cranial encyster can be struck with a weapon or grappled itself-- if its prey manages to win a grapple check or Escape Artist check against it, the cranial encyster is removed. ### Death Urge (Sp) Once successfully attached, the awful needle-tipped limbs already inserted into the victim's skull, it can implant a death urge (per the psion power) as an 8th level manifester. An implanted death urge lasts for 1d4 rounds. If an encyster is removed, the death urge is also immediately lifted. ### Disquieting gibber (Ex) All creatures except cranial encysters within 30 feet who hear the gibbering must succeed at a DC 13 Will save or be shaken for as long as they can hear the gibbering. Whether or not the save is successful, a create cannot be affected by the same encyster's disquieting gibber for 24 hours. This is a sonic, mind-affecting fear effect.
