## Energy Affinity (Metamagic) *You can modify a spell that uses one type of energy to use another type instead.* **Prerequisite:** Knowledge (arcana) 1 rank, Knowledge (planes) 1 rank **Benefit:** When you cast a spell that does energy damage, creatures immune to that corresponding energy type heal 1 hit point per level of the spell. Creatures under the effect of _protection from energy_ heal from an affinity spell, but any damage they would have taken is deducted from the amount of energy damage that spell absorbed. Creatures who are not immune to that energy type take damage as if the spell were unmodified. Creatures with healed by flames or similar abilities heal damage as normal, plus 1 hit point per spell level. A modified spell uses a spell slot of the spell's normal level, modified by any other metamagic feats.
