Your target must be eligible for sneak attack (not immune to precision-based damage, flanked, denied a Dexterity bonus, etc). In addition, when using the Assassin maneuver, your opponent must make a Fortitude save (DC equal to 10 + your base attack bonus) or be staggered for a number of rounds equal to your Wisdom modifier.
