# Akashic Magic Akasha is the inter-connected flow of life that permeates all living things. It underlies the interaction of all living things with mundane phenomenon and thaumaturgic energies. Because of this, divine, arcane and psychic magic, as well as psionic power, interact with akashic magic on a fundamental level, if it did not, magic would not have the ability to shape or transform living things (beyond its ability to conjure physical phenomena that affect the living). The wizard's ability to lay a curse upon those to touch a forbidden object, the clerics ability to heal wounds earned in battle, the druid's ability to speak with the animals and move through the wilderness are all fundamentally akashic powers. A wizard will use their words and materials and gestures of the hand to "trick" themselves into flowing akasha into the world to shape the spells they have in mind, akashic magic more directly shapes these forces to their will, without need of the trappings or tools to make it happen. ## Chakra Living creatures are plugged into this flow by way of a series of interfaces called "chakra," that are centered at various points through the body. These chakra points correspond to the part of the body where the energies of the living body can interface with thaumaturgic energy, which is why magic items can only be worn on certain parts of the body, and why multiple magic items that are attuned to the same slot or chakra cannot be used at the same time. | Charkra | Alternate name | Magic Item Slot | | ---------------- | -------------- | --------------- | | Crown | First Eye | Head | | Brow | Second Eye | Headband | | Third Eye | | Eyes | | Spine | Second Heart | Shoulder | | Throat | Voice | Neck | | Heart | First Heart | Chest | | Solar Plexus | Third Heart | Body | | Sacral | Gut | Belt | | Elbow | | Wrist | | Palm | Hand | Hand | | Thumb and Finger | Left and Right | Ring | | Root | Foot | Foot | | Blood | Vital or Soul | Blood | ### Crown Also known as the first eye, the crown chakra is most closely related to intelligence, learning and memory. ### Brow The brow chakra, also know as the second eye, is the chakra associated with empirical insight, cunning, sensory skill, spatial awareness and the wisdom of the mundane world. ### Third Eye The third eye is the eye that allows the perception, manipulation and understanding of the unseen, the magical and the spiritual. It also represents that aspect of Charisma that represents one's personal power, such as the ability to cast spells, use supernatural abilities and perform feats and resist magical manipulation (even if these abilities are not actually tied to Charisma). ### Spine The spine, or the second heart, represents the strength of bearing, endurance and physical fortitude. It also represents the courage of the body, the willingness to act in the face of physical danger. ### Throat The throat or voice chakra represents articulation, clarity, speech and the ability to change the world with your words. ### Heart The heart, or rather the first heart, represents compassion, empathy and the high emotions of virtue. It also represents the courage of conviction. The ability to act in the face of emotion danger. ### Solar Plexus The solar plexus, diaphragm, or third heart represents calm, serenity, logic and knowledge. It is the mental balance around which all other chakras can harmonize. ### Sacral The sacral chakra, the gut, represents intuition. It also represents virility, agility and quickness of action. It also represents passions and low emotions. ### Elbow The elbow chakra represents the strength of arms, the ability to move, build, break and shape with one's physical body. ### Palm The palm chakra represents devotion, affection, nourishment. ### Thumb and Finger The thumb and finder are chakras that are both separate and unified. They represent exploration, curiosity, ingenuity and problem-solving. ### Root The root or foot chakra represent movement and movement. It represents the ability to move quickly and precisely, or to stand firm. ### Blood While not a proper chakra, the blood, vital or soul chakra represents the sense of identity that creatures carry, as well as our personal ties to those around us, whether they are part of a family, a people or culture. Bonds of fellowship are often sealed in blood to represent its ability to connect ourselves to each other. ## Monster Chakra Not all creatures carry the same chakra, just as not every creatures can use all magic items, nor do the relationships between chakras and their attributes translate between creature types. Just because a wolf lacks a root chakra doesn't mean they do not have a chakra that is tied to movement. Chakra abilities transcend physical forms, thus a wolf that is magically transformed into the shape of an elf would not have a root chakra, because it's true self, it's true form is that of a wolf. These chakras are part of what allows creatures shaped by magic to be seen for their true form, and to be returned to that form by other magic. # Ashamic Magic Just as akasha is the flow of life into living things, the foul animating force of ashama flows into dead creatures and moves their bodies around, or allows them to manifest without substance. This matrix of ashamic energy transfuses the undead, and the creations of these false chakra are a key aspect of animating undead creatures. Some veilweavers are capable of manipulating this power.
