Rak’ar’nazak
The Red Fury, Lord of the Flames, Ruler of the Forsaken Places.
Rak’ar’nazak (pronounced ruk-AR-nuh-zak) is the dreaded Red Dragon of the Council of Seven. She is the most powerful and terrible of the Dragon Gods. Her scales were said to be the color of human blood, and he breathed fire hot enough to melt the skin of a Salamandar.
History
Rak'ar'nazak was the strongest and most powerful of the Council of Seven. She was also the cruelest and most destructive of them.
Rak'ar'nazak was never interested in cooperation with the other Dragons of the Council, but her pride would not permit a ruling council of dragons to NOT include her. For their part, the other members of the seven found Rak'ar'nazak to be a powerful weapon, easily pointed in the right direction with few clever words or artful presentation of facts. Rak'ar'nazak enjoyed destruction and devastation, and it may have been this enjoyment that was ultimately the downfall of the Dragon Gods.
Church of the Bloodscale
Rak'ar'nazak was a bloodthirsty maniac, destroying whatever and whomever she saw fit. As such, little exists in the way of organized worship. Most dragonborn view Rak'ar'nazak as the bringer of misfortune and disaster, a calamity to be avoided or perhaps to be wished upon one's enemies. Because the dragonborn are easily identifiable "others" they tend to be distrusted and shunned by humanoid societies. Many are forced to live as outlaws and bandits, and those who are revel in the stories of ruination attributed to the Lord of the Flame. They see themselves as instruments of her fury, punishing the humanoids for their ill-gotten rulership over the world of Temnia.
Holy Texts
Sha'kos Kaelesh, or "Classic of Antiquety," are a series of stories collected from the ruins of the Dragonborn civilization. The stories are tell tales of the various Dragons gods, most prominant the members of the Counsel of Seven.
Worshipers
Worshippers of Rak'ar'nazak tend to be anti-social and outwardly destructive. They see tales of Rak'ar'nazak's vanity, cruelty and greed as depicted in Sha'kos Kaelesh as proof that anyone can do whatever they want, rather than as a kratocractic manifesto rather than cautionary tales of the price of hubris. Civilized dragonborn see Rak'ar'nazak as something of a divine adversary, though one who is due respect and some measure of gratitude for his part in the shaping of the world.
Clergy
The faithful of the Bloodscale is largely comprised of Champions, Inquisitors and Warpreists. Some true Clerics and Oracles can be found, but most favor strength of arms, and have some level of martial training. Rak'ar'nazak's clergy do not have a formal dress, but wear a weapon featuring a blade lacquered blood red. Faithful of Rak'ar'nazak can be found among outlaw encampments, assassins guilds, raider bands, and pretty much any collection of people who exploit the suffer of others for personal gain. Dedicated clerics of Rak'ar'nazak are rarely seen in civilized lands. Those few that exist are held in secret by the church of the Dragon Gods, so they they can do the dirty work that cannot be publicly endorsed by the clergy.
