# Church of Olidarus ### Structure Tyrennhians have formed a religion around Olidarus, the savior who delivered the Tyrennhians from the oppressive yoke of the half-ylvani Overlords. His teachings, and the commentaries from his disciples, form the entire basis for Tyrennhian life.   Olidarus was the first human on Corsu to learn wizardly magic, a secret closely guarded by the Overlords in the decades prior to the Imperium. Olidarus’ theorems and formulae are considered revolutionary among the arcane scholars of Temnia, largely replacing the “staff and circle” method of casting popularized by the Atvaran scholar Selder Bryn. Olidarus’ teachings on the working of divine magic are somewhat less popular, at least outside of the Imperium. While Oldaran Clerics are devoutly committed to living by the moral and political philosophy of Olidarus and his disciples, they approach divine magic in much the same way a wizard approaches arcane magic. Archivists and other intelligence based divine casters are very common in the Imperium.   Olidarus’s teachings revolve around the importance of liberty; how education, discipline and courage secure that liberty; and about the primacy and sanctity of the human race. His teaches are expanded upon by Oldiarius’s nine companions, who wrote his story from their own perspectives, which each have their unique commentary on the teachings through the prism of their own beliefs.   The nine companions are: 1. Cartasis: The Selfless Servant 2. Sarnia: The Illuminated Philanthrope 3. Namarus: The Courteous Beggar 4. Breatis: The Diligent Worker 5. Temnastes: The Appraising Preserver 6. Varrus: The Purposeful Uniter 7. Garindis: The Vigilant Defender 8. Ilaria: The Robust Paragon 9. Boreanis: The Patient Philosopher   In addition to the nine recognized companions of Olidarus, there is the heretical notion of a tenth: Nekruna, the Pious Convert. Nekruna was one of the Overlords of Corsu. According to the heretical teachings, Nekruna spoke to Olidarus, and based on the ensuing respect and friendship, Nekruna began to sympathise with the plight of the humans enslaved by the Overlords. He collaborated with Olidarus and aided his fight for freedom. He taught magic to Olidarus and sabotaged the Overlords’ efforts to quash the human uprisings. It was Nekruna’s final betrayal at Tyrrenhis that allowed the Vriandian Nation to topple the stronghold of Quöl Va’efin.   Nekruna was killed shortly after the battle of Tyrrenhis, murdered by one of Olidarus’ followers who refused to accept that one of the hated half-ylvani had played such a crucial role in the liberation of what would become the Tyrrenhian people. That same prejudice is responsible for excising any mention of Nekruna’s aid in the histories and in the sacred accounts. The other companions’ commentaries mention Nekruna as one of the major antagonists of the Vriandian Nation. They paint Nekruna as an important and influential Overlords; A butcher, a sadist, and an irredeemable tyrant who saw all mundane humans as little more than beasts of burden.     *******************************   ????     # Leadership   ????   # Local Structure   ???   # Suborginitions   **???**   # Denominations, Splinter Groups and Regional Variants   ### Among the ??? #### ???   #### ???   ### Outside ??? #### ???   #### ???     # Divine Casters within the Church ### Cleric ???   ### Archivist ???   ### Druid ???   ### Inquisitor ???   ### Oracle / Favored Soul ???   ### Paladin / Champion ???   ### Ranger / Slayer ???   ### Shaman ???   ### Shugenja ???   ### Warpriest ???
