Whatever prevents magic from functioning within the stillands has made its way into the karsani people, for even if they leave their homes, they are incapable of using magic, and magic-users find it particularly difficult to affect karsani with it. ... ## Physical Description ...  ## In society ...  ## Relations ..  ## Alignment and Philosophy ... ## Adventures ... ## Naming Traditions ... **Male Names:** **Female Names:**  # Racial Traits (14 RP) ### Standard Racial Traits - **Ability Score Racial Traits:** Karsani characters gain a +2 racial bonus to one ability score of their choice at creation to represent their varied nature. - **Size:** Karsani are Medium creatures and thus receive no bonuses or penalties due to their size. - **Base Speed:** Karsani have a base speed of 30 feet. - **Languages:** Karsani begin play speaking Common and their own national language. Karsani with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic). See the Linguistics skill page for more information about these languages. #### Defense Racial Traits - **Spell Resistance:** Karsani gain spell resistance equal to 11+their character level. - **Spell Defiance:** Karsani gain a +2 racial bonus to saves against spells and spell-like abilities - **Spell Consumption (4 RP):** If a spell or spell-like ability fails to overcome a karsan's spells resistance, the karsan heals 2 hit points per level of the spell resisted. #### Offense Racial Traits - **Magic Disruption (4 RP):** Karsani can disrupt the workings of a magic item with a mere touch. A magical object touched or hit with an unarmed strike must make a DC 12 Will save for be rendered inoperative for 1 round. This ability cannot affect objects whose caster level are greater than the karsan's character level, and has no effect on artefacts. #### weakness Racial Traits - **Magic Inability (-2 RP):** Karsani cannot cast spells, manifest psionic powers, use spell-like or psi-like abilities, even if he takes levels in a class that would allow him to do so.
