# Racial Traits (10 RP)
### Standard Racial Traits
- **Ability Score Racial Traits:** Kurgaran are slow of mind and body, but are durable and insightful. They gain +2 Constitution, +2 Wisdom, -4 Dexterity, -2 Intelligence
- **Size:** Kurgaran are Medium creatures and thus receive no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
- **Type:** Kurgaran are Humanoids with the kurgar subtype.
- **Base Speed:** (Slow and steady): Kurgaran have a base speed of 20 feet, but their speed is never reduced because of encumbrance or armor.
- **Languages:** Begin play speaking Kurgic and Common. Kurgaran with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: ?,?,?,?,?,? and ?. See the [[Languages of Temnia]] page for more information about these languages.
#### Defense Racial Traits
- **Hunker (1 RP):** Kurgaran can hunker themselves down and utilize their carapace to protect them from harm. While taking the total defense action, kurgaran gain a +2 bonus to AC and reflex saves. If prone, these bonuses increase to +4.
- **Natural Armor:** Kurgaran gain a +2 bonus to their natural armor.
#### Feat and Skill Racial Traits
- **Endurance:** Kurgaran gain endurance as a bonus feat
- **Methodical (2 RP):** Kurgaran gain a +1 racial bonus to skill checks if they approach the task carefully. Skill checks made in this fashion take twice as long as normal, or a full-round action, whichever is longer.
#### Senses Racial Traits
- **Low-Light Vision:** Kurgaran can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light.
#### Offense Racial Traits
- **Implacable (3 RP):** When a kurgar moves, it can move through 10 feet of nonmagical difficult terrain as if it were normal terrain. Kurgar can take a 5-foot step in such terrain.

- **Heavy Hauler (1 RP):** Kurgaran Strength score is considered to be 4 higher for the purpose of calculating carrying capacity.
